FAMILY HEIRLOOM DECORATION

The "Family Inheritance Decoration" is a family cultural inheritance system created by Lu'an Prefecture based on six hundred years of Lu silk craftsmanship. By extracting symbolic elements from the family's historical memory and using modern design language to transform them into an exclusive pattern system, the intangible cultural heritage of Lu silk is used as a carrier to construct a complete expression system from family spiritual symbols to life aesthetics. The cultural inheritance model of "one line, one family, one spectrum".

Family Pattern

When the designer of Lu Chou was conducting an investigation in Lianghu Village, Jincheng, he was attracted by the window stone of an old Qing Dynasty house. The auspicious cloud relief on the bluestone, having endured a century of wind and rain, still exudes the vitality of the artisan's sharp knife. The owner of the old house said, "This was carved by our ancestors to ward off disasters and pray for blessings. The clouds head eastward, hoping that the wanderers will return home."

He used rubbings to preserve the patterns and combined them with the "Cun Jin" technique of Lu silk to deconstruct them: simplifying the lines of the auspicious clouds into geometric ripples, with the family surnames hidden in seal script at the cloud heads and the "∞" symbol symbolizing intergenerational inheritance embroidered on the edges. And villagers were invited to participate in the dyeing, using Taihang Mountain mineral pigments to restore the original color of the bluestone.

The first set of "Returning Cloud Pattern" family emblem silk scarves was collected by descendants of overseas Shanxi merchants, triggering a craze for "root-seeking customization". As a result, Lianghu Village established an intangible cultural heritage workshop. Experienced artisans took on apprentices to replicate the patterns of ancient buildings, while young designers used digital technology to revitalize tradition - a single stone connected the family memories with the bloodline of rural revitalization. Reconstructing endangered ancient architectural patterns with intangible cultural heritage skills not only provides cultural anchors for scattered families but also restores the economic vitality of ancient village skills, achieving the goal of "old patterns supporting new artisans".
